December:

Send out the Annual Appeal letter.

January:
-The president asks each of the board members whose terms will expire that year to declare their intention for the next term: to remain or to step back. 

-Officers of the board declare their intentions for the coming year to the President. The officers will begin to discuss replacements of anyone who is stepping back.

-Planning for the coming summer conference begins, if it has not already begun.
